JOHNNY FERNANDO
 |
In 2011, our community lost a
very special player, a very special person. Johnny spent all
his formative years as a baseball player in our organization and
then went on to a very successful career as a starting middle
infielder on nationally recognized baseball teams and on the varsity
team at Beacon High School.
His
2010 Perfect Game rating listed him as a "National Follow" and a
College Division 1 and low round major league prospect. |

Over the years, he dedicated many
hours to sharing his skills and baseball knowledge with many
Bulldogs and helped our programs by umpiring, assisting evaluations
and instructional clinics, and teaching in Camp Bulldog.
Besides playing on Bulldog teams, he also helped his dad to coach
his brother Joe's Bulldog team, including coaching third base in
the team's Triple Crown Summer National Championship victory in
Myrtle Beach, SC in 2007.

In his honor we have renamed the
Bulldog's Golden Glove to the John Fernando Golden Glove award.
The first such awards were given at the 2011 Bulldogs awards dinner.
A page honoring Johnny was placed in our dinner booket
and a video honoring Johnny was played.
