In a game that featured stellar pitching, sparkling defense, and timely hitting, the Big Rigs defeated the Scarlet Cobras 3-0 to win the Pony Major American League Championship. The Big Rigs scored three times on five singles in the first which was all they needed as pitchers Lucas Hoye, Patrick Manning, and Alex Hejna-Luque combined for their second consecutive perfect game, retiring all of the 18 batters they faced. Great job by the coaches, led by Jacob Hoye, Tom Manning, and Jonathan Kaye. Runners Up: The Scarlet Cobras
Although the Scarlet Cobras' young trio of pitchers of Jordan Hubal, Frank Adams and Connor Mraz did not allow another run, they could not break through despite putting the ball in play throughout the game. Sam Ginsberg's rocket into right field, which went to the wall, was foul by inches, and the Scarlet Cobras never threatened after that. The game featured several sparkling fielding plays by both teams and only one batter walked the entire game. Another great coaching job by Jeff Ginsberg, Chris Blum and Steve Rissman.
Champions: RAM-Bombers
After winning their last 3 games on shutouts, the RAM-Bombers played a pitcher's battle with Doing a great job, Hector Colon stepped in the last minute to take over the coaching responsibilities of David Greenberg and his son Jacob. Pitchers Justin Colon, Ben Clarick, and Kofi and Rio Hope-Gund combined to throw a 1-0 shutout to take the National League title. The winning run was scored by the hit of Justin Colon. Runners up: The Atlantics
Pitchers Marek Barnette, Leo Posel and Sam Griffith, Leo Farber did a great job holding the RAM-Bombers to only one run. And many sparkling players were made in the field. Many thanks to the great coaching of Stuart Miller, Aaron Shiffman, and Brad Lander.
Bottom Row left to right: Jake
Simpson, Zander Buswinka, Chance L, Matisse Neal, Oliver Batzdorf-Vickers
It was a battle of two undefeated teams; and both teams proved themselves worthy opponents. In an exciting finals game that went down to the wire, the Thunderbolts, led by pitchers Joey Schweitzer, Damon Rosenberg, and Stuart Ross, and coached by Harry Schweitzer, shut out the Black Knights, coached by Chris Wilson, to win the 2007 Pony Championship 2-0. The second run was scored in a close, bang-bang play at home plate where the Black Knights' pitcher, Emmett Sklar, almost made a fantastic diving tag on the runner. The Black Knights were led by the excellent pitching of Gibran Grant, Emmett Sklar and Henry Morgan; and excellent plays in the field by Christian Wilson at third base and Emmett Sklar at 2nd. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for being well-prepared and playing like true champions.

Congratulations to the 2006 Pony Tournament Champions: The 78 Pirates, coached by Yorke Rhodes. The Pirates’ pitchers, Will Cembalest, Hunter Burkhart, and Willie Upbin, combined to pitch at 3-0 a one-hitter against the gritty 78 Yankees, coached by David Joseph. It was a pitchers battle all the way. The scoring came in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Miles Dixon hit a double scoring Yorke Rhodes IV for a 1-0 lead. Then in the 4th inning Willie Upbin hit a triple that drove in Rafael Misak and Tanner Burkhart which proved to be the rest of the games’ runs. The Yankees had strong pitching from Tyler Vincent, Zachary Farber, Mitchell Black and Graham Wolff. Their never-give-up attitude extended to a last inning charge led by a triple by Devon Joseph. But the Pirates hung tough and won the game. The Yankee traveled the long road to the finals. First they had to win two games to capture the 8th seed position. Then they had to play the highest seeds to reach the finals. And the morning of the finals they had to play their semi-final game, because the originally scheduled game had been postponed due to rain. That semi-final was a great, close game in which they held onto a final inning charge by team 6 (coached by Bill deBlasio) to win 3-2. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for being well-prepared and being completely respectful to each other. Congratulations to the 2005 co-champions SFX Huskies coached by Seth Ferris and 78 Jets coached by Marko Maglich. This is the second year in a row that a 78 Pony team has won the championship. After 6 innings the score was tied at 0-0. After two extra innings, the score was STILL tied at 0-0. Finally, after the 9th inning and 3 hours of play, pending darkness, and no score, the league officials declared the game a tie and the teams Co-Champions. Everyone played great. Congratulations SFX Huskies and the 78 JETS!
